Azerbaijan's ministry talks postal services work during quarantine

BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 5

Trend:

Azerbaijan is working to enhance its post service, as online delivery will be implemented in a variety of ways, and will cover both Baku and the regions of the country, the country’s Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies told Trend.

“At present, Azerpost LLC is working on provision of online services,” said the ministry. “These online delivery services are intended for both individuals and legal entities. A more efficient courier service will be provided. This is just a project, and its implementation is scheduled for the end of 2020.".

During the special quarantine regime imposed due to the coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19), Azerpost LLC provides support to a number of social projects implemented by the state. The process of issuing lump sum payments (190 manat or $111.7) to unemployed and informally working low-income citizens who lost their jobs over the special quarantine regime has also been successfully completed at the post offices.

Azerpost LLC made payments to over 590,000 citizens under the project.

To ensure the use of financial services by citizens under the special quarantine regime, outgoing postal services were organized in Baku’s villages without leaving their place of residence.

Azerpost LLC, being the only one national postal operator of Azerbaijan, currently serves citizens during the week, including Saturday, Sunday and holidays.

The company has a call center hotline at #169, with requests and issues being handled 24 hours a day.
