Azerbaijan's Aztelekom allocates funds for telecommunications equipment

Azerbaijan's Aztelekom LLC will allocate over 1.826 million manat (over $1 million) for the construction of a dedicated line and the purchase of telecommunications equipment, Trend reports with reference to Azerbaijan's public procurement portal (etender.gov.az).

Azerbaijan's Aztelekom LLC has signed corresponding contracts with state's Azrabita Services LLC and Huawei International PTE.

"Azrabita Services was the winner of the first tender, and Huawei International PTE won the second tender," the report said.

The contract with Azrabita Services provides for the construction of a dedicated line. The total cost of the contract is 976,845 manat ($574,614).

The contract with Huawei International PTE is for the supply of DSLAM (Digital Subscriber Line Access Multiplexer) equipment for the creation of 261,12 ADSL (Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line), 8 GPON (Gigabit Passive Optical Network) and 2,176 POTS ports by order of Aztelekom LLC. The total cost of the contract was 849,455 manat ($499,679).

Aztelekom LLC has been working on a network reconstruction project based on DWDM (Dense Wavelengt Division Multiplexing) and MPLS (Multiprotocol Label Switching) technologies, in order to meet the demand for telecommunications services, as well as provide high-quality, stable and multi-stage communication services.
