BAKU, Azerbaijan, Dec. 23

By Sadraddin Aghjayev - Trend:

Both the pandemic and the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh war showed the Azerbaijani society the importance of the sphere of cybersecurity, Rashad Amirjanov, expert, technical director of PASHA Bank, told Trend.

"The pandemic taught our society to observe simple rules of behavior, while the war period - to fight against information war," Amirjanov added.

"PASHA Bank's solutions for protection against cyber threats include a number of software solutions, both automated and manual," the expert said. "Of course, we give preference to automated solutions, in which no human resources are required to reveal and repel threats. But we do not refuse from mechanical methods."

"The most effective way to suppress cyber threats is the qualification of IT specialists," Amirjanov said.

"We must understand where threats come from and what solutions are most effective in combating them," the expert said. "It is important to conduct training with personnel in the cybersecurity sector. The human factor in the fight against cyber threats and their prevention plays an important role."

"Moreover, there are ready-made solutions that allow not only software solutions to suppress threats, but also give them an assessment of how effective they are in combating this or that threat," Amirjanov said.

"Despite the fact that today most organizations have automated security systems that automatically detect and neutralize threats, the human factor can play a decisive role here," the expert added.

"In accordance with some reports, a bigger number of cyber threats are predicted to occur in the near future," Amirjanov said. "The education in the field of ICT and their protection can help in the prevention of their spread."

"Software solutions help prevent current threats while the human factor can prevent possible hacker attacks and their types," the expert said.
