Azerbaijani government's digitalization to favor creation of various projects

Azerbaijani Center for the Development of Electronic Government issued a report describing operation principle of the Azerbaijani electronic government information system, created by the center, Trend reports on Jan.27.

According to the report, the system functions in the format of government - citizen (G2C), government - business (G2B), government - government (G2G).

The report also informed the application of technical solutions to ‘e-Agro’, ‘e-Satinalma’ and ‘e-Harrac’ projects.

Based on the Action Plan ‘On additional measures to ensure the efficient use of water resources" approved by the order of the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev dated July 27, 2020 No. 2178, from July 2020, within the information system's ‘Electronic water management’ project, execution of the relevant works has begun.

In line with the decree of the President of Azerbaijan dated November 6, 2020 No. 2292, operational work was carried out towards the complete restoration of objects damaged as a result of the Armenian aggression (during 44-day war from late Sept. through early Nov.2020), and the creation of a unified database on the costs of repair and construction work, the report said.

The report also touched upon the creation of an electronic document management system, a task management system – ‘ASAN Task’, a human resource management system, about the launch of a national system for secure exchange of information between organizations – ‘ASAN Bridge’.

"In 2020, special attention was paid to educational work in the direction of e-government in order to ensure sustainable and affordable e-services and projects carried out in the direction of the digitalization of government," the report noted.

In the reporting year, the center took part in the ‘Superiority and Place of Digital Technologies in the Internal Governance of Africa’ international webinar, as well as in the ‘Digital Practices and Solutions to COVID-19 Governance Problems’ panel session held within the online conference of the International Institute of Administrative Sciences (IIAS).

Along with the above, the center participated in plenary meetings of the Committee on Artificial Intelligence (CAHAI), established by the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe (CoE).

Besides, in 2020, EBRD Director Fariz Jafarov was elected as the supervisory member of the Bureau of the Committee on Artificial Intelligence from Azerbaijan by the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe.
