Azerbaijan's Nakhchivan launches new communication facilities in 1Q2021

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Apr. 22

New communication facilities were launched in Azerbaijan’s Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic in the first quarter of 2021, Trend reports referring to the report of Nakhchivan’s State Statistical Committee.

According to the report, three post offices were provided with new buildings, and two new automatic telephone exchanges were also installed.

Besides, the construction of a new broadcasting building in Sadarak city has been completed.

From January through March 2021, revenues of information and communication services in Nakhchivan amounted to 14.7 million manat ($8.6 million), and 74.1 percent of the total volume of services accounted for mobile communications.

As of April 1, 2021, 88,855 residents of the republic have been provided with natural gas, due to which the installation of smart electric and gas meters continues in the Babak district and in the city of Sharur.
