By Sadraddin Aghjayev - Trend:

Over 50 percent of global financial agencies expect an increase in budgets for cyber security in 2021, Trend reports referring to annual survey conducted by Qrator Labs international company among the heads of the largest global financial agencies.

According to the company, 40 percent of the agencies plan to keep spending on these purposes at the same level.

Some 82 percent of the respondents named financial losses as the most significant consequences of attacks in the information space, while 71 percent reported a personal data breach.

“In 2019 almost no respondent named data breaches as one of the most significant risks for companies, and in 2020 credit institutions began to seriously think about how to deal with them. Back in 2015, 61 percent of banks were afraid of licenses’ recall, and 37 percent - certification (PCI DSS)," the company said.

Qrator Labs’ CEO Alexander Lyamin noted that the activation of cybercriminals is associated with the revival of business during the weakening of the COVID-19 pandemic.

"Phishing (44 percent) and DDoS attacks (36 percent) remained the most prevalent cyber security threats in the past year," he added.
