Information systems are being developed in Azerbaijan in accordance with the principle of security by design and taking into account the best practices to minimize risks, the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies of Azerbaijan said this week, Trend reports.
During the development of these systems, potential threats, risks and impacts on the workflow are measured, and measures are proposed to reduce threats to the appropriate level, said the report.
“In addition, it became known that the number of spheres in which digitalization is used is rapidly growing in Azerbaijan. These include: the information technology sector, transport, tourism, oil and gas, utilities, communications, agriculture, education, health care, and a number of others,” said the ministry.
As reported this week, for the first time in Azerbaijan, a project on online sales of the CASCO insurance product has been implemented. The founder of the project noted that this year CASCO can be purchased completely online and there is already sufficient demand for this product.
Moreover, this week, the Ministry of Economy reported that non-cash payments play a significant role in accelerating the turnover of funds and the development of Azerbaijan's economy as a whole. It was noted that the use of POS terminals in business is more expedient from the point of view of the accuracy of the amounts of payments and the convenience of making settlements, as well as increasing the number of customers.
In addition, the Ministry of Economy noted that in order to stimulate cashless payments, a number of changes were made to the legislation of Azerbaijan, which had a positive effect on the growth of non-cash turnover, increased the transparency of the economy, strengthened the fight against the "shadow" economy and increased tax revenues.
“Also, this week it became known that intergovernmental cooperation between Azerbaijan and Russia is an important stage in the development of bilateral relations in the field of information technology. At the same time, one of the most significant components in this area is to ensure both internal and external information security,” the ministry said.
This week, the Azerbaijani IT company Cubics Technology announced plans to enter global markets, including the CIS countries, Europe and North America. At the moment, the company is actively working on the projects Cubics POS, Cubics BMS and Cubics Brands.
The application of these solutions together allows entrepreneurs to fully automate and optimize all business processes within the company.
