BAKU, Azerbaijan, Aug. 28

By Fakhri Vakilov - Trend:

Uzbekistan’s President Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a decree introducing a 'special regime' for the use of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies, Trend reports citing Uzbek media.

A special regime means the creation of necessary organizational and legal conditions for legal entities and scientific organizations carrying out activities within its framework related to the conduct of experimental work based on AI technologies, development of software and provision of services, provision of legal privileges arising in the process of testing and implementation of software products into practice.

The special regime is a separate link of the Technological Park of software products and information technologies (IT-park).

For those willing to apply for the new feature, a system of accelerated and simplified obtaining of permits for the implementation of activities within the framework of pilot projects is being introduced. Applications from applicants are processed on an expedited basis within five working days.

The period of validity of the special regime is five years and its extension is carried out by the decision of the Coordination Commission for the implementation of the Strategy "Digital Uzbekistan - 2030".
