BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 9. Last week it became known that the main share of payments made through Azerbaijani GoldenPay (Hesab.az) payment system falls on services of mobile operators, internet, fixed telephone communications, also utilities, Trend reports.
GoldenPay was the first company in Azerbaijani market to integrate Open Banking into non-banking sector, expand the range of services by adding insurance products, VAT refunds, SMS radar services, online tracking of Azerbaijan’s PASHA Bank and Bank Respublika cards balance, purchase of tickets for events and a number of other services.
Also, it became known that POS-terminals in Azerbaijan are most often used by population of such cities as Baku, Ganja, Shaki, Shamakhi and Yevlakh.
Last week it was reported that the Central Bank of Azerbaijan Republic (CBAR) has successfully completed the transition of real-time interbank payment system (AZIPS) to ISO20022 international standard .
It was noted that this will expand the possibilities of automating intersystem integration both within Azerbaijan and between countries, also increase automation of payment processing. ISO20022 standard provides a more complete reflection of information in payment documents and provides more opportunities for reporting.
It also became known that the new resident of the High-Tech Park of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan - Tronig LLC will be working in the sphere of robotics and integration of artificial intelligence systems.
