BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 21. The average download speeds for mobile and broadband Internet access in Azerbaijan were 32.52 (a decrease of 1.08 percent compared to the previous month) and 21.01 Mbps (an increase of 3.6 percent), respectively, in May 2022, Trend reports citing Ookla’s Open Data.

In the reporting month, the mobile data download rate dropped by 0.35 Mbps compared to the previous month. The outgoing mobile internet speeds were 10.01 Mbps, down by 0.99 percent against April 2022.

The data download speed fixed broadband Internet access grew by 0.73 Mbps compared to April 2022, while the outgoing speed reached 22.96 Mbps (growth of 4.84 percent, or 1.06 Mbps compared to the previous month).

During this period, the average speed of incoming and outgoing downloads worldwide through the mobile network totaled 30.37 and 8.6 Mbps, respectively.

In May 2022, Azerbaijan ranked 61st among 141 countries in terms of mobile data download speed and 118th among 182 countries in broadband internet data transfer speed.
