Azerbaijan's Azercosmos reveals income from satellite, telecommunication service exports

BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 1. Azerbaijani Azercosmos' OJSC revenues from the export of satellite and telecommunication services amounted to $13.1 million in the first half of 2022, Trend reports via the "Export review" of the country's Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication.

The export of services accounted for 87 percent out of the total income of the company.

During the reporting period, Azercosmos OJSC exported satellite and telecommunication services to the UK ($3.3 million), France ($2.8 million), Luxembourg ($2.2 million), UAE ($1.2 million), and Pakistan ($0.7 million).

In June 2022, the satellite operator exported services of $2.3 million to 32 countries in total.

The company owns two communication satellites – Azerspace-1 and Azerspace-2, as well as low-orbit Azersky satellite.

The receipts of Azercosmos OJSC from the export of satellite and telecommunications services amounted to $45.3 million in 2021, which was $200,000 more than in 2020.
