BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 28. In June 2022, the average download speeds for mobile and broadband Internet connection in Azerbaijan were 40.39 Mbps (1.41 percent lower than in May) and 29.47 Mbps (a 1.13 percent rise), respectively, Trend reports.
According to Ookla's Open Data, Azerbaijan is ranked 116th out of 180 nations in terms of data transmission speed in broadband networks.
The mobile data download rate fell by 0.58 Mbps in the reporting month compared to the prior month. Outgoing mobile internet speeds were 11.25 Mbps, a 2.85 percent decrease from May (11.58 Mbps).
The data download speed for fixed broadband Internet access increased by 0.33 Mbps compared to May, but the outgoing speed decreased by 0.03 percent.
During this time period, the average speed of incoming and outgoing downloads through mobile network was 42.92 and 10.21 Mbps, respectively.
In May 2023, Azerbaijan ranked 59th out of 140 countries in terms of mobile data download speed and 116th out of 180 countries in terms of broadband internet data transfer speed, according to Ookla's Open Data.
Furthermore, Georgia is placed 74th in the Ookla rating with an indicator of 31.76 Mbps, while Armenia is ranked 81st (27.77 Mbps). The United Arab Emirates has the fastest mobile Internet in the world, with a data transfer rate of 200.24 Mbps, while Sudan has the slowest (2.38 Mbps).
