7 cars delivered to Baku for post transportations within project with WPU

7 cars were delivered to Baku for Azerpocht state enterprise to use in the post transportations. Handing over ceremony is planned to be staged next week with the participation of the representatives of the Communications and Information Technologies Ministry and media, the Ministry told Trend.

At present major routes of the post transportations within the country are Baku-Ganja-Baku, Baku-Gabala-Baku, Baku-Horadiz-Baku, but auxiliary routes Ganja-Gazakh-

Ganja and Gabala-Balakan-Gabala.

The cars were purchased within a new project on technical assistance to Azerpocht, implementing jointly with the World Post Union (WPU) through UNDP.

The total value of the project comprises $137 500 with $39,000 by the WPU and the rest by Ministry.

Besides, the WPU also implemented a similar project in the post service of the Nakhichevan Autonomous Republic in 2005.
