Azerbaijan to participate in int'l exhibition on IT-technologies CeBIT-2006

Azerbaijan will participate in an annual international exhibition in the sphere of establishment and application of IT technologies CeBIT-2006 to be held in Hanover from 9 to 15 March, the Ministry of Communications and information Technologies told Trend.

With this respect the Communications Ministry held a meeting with the representatives of the IT companies of the country to inform them about the forthcoming exhibition and attraction of the local companies in the sphere of communications and information technologies (ICT) for participation in the show.

During the meeting a member of the organization commission CeBIT, Narmin Aliyev, noted that a delegation of representatives from 10 companies will represent Azerbaijan in the event. At present work over development of exact list of companies, to participate in the exhibition, is underway. Azerbaijan will have a venue with area of 100 sq m.

In 2005 Azerbaijan participated in CeBIT 2005 exhibition held under the motto Solutions for a Digital World and Sinam Ltd. represented the country in the show.

The Ministry said that over 3,000 from 60 countries are expected to participate in the show. The exhibition will represent 3 topical sections business-processes, which will exhibit all program products dedicated the exchange of documents, the management of enterprises, personnel, ensuring of security and outsourcing. The second section of the exhibition is dedicated to digital equipment and digital systems, ranging from digital photos and work with images to preservation of data. The third thematic section implicates the communications, which along with the traditional resolutions also represents products referred to telematics and navigation.

In general in 2006 a total of 650,000 people are expected to visit CeBIT 2006. Last year the visitors numbered 475,000, including over 50% - from the EU countries, 24.3% - Asian countries, 4.6% - East Europe countries, 24.3% - different European countries.
