The Ministry of Communications & Information Technology of Azerbaijan has participated in the exhibition 15 Years of CIS: Co-operation and Integration which began on October 25 at the Russian Exhibition Center in Moscow. Representing Azerbaijan, the exhibition is attended by the Chief of the Information Society Development Department of the Communications Ministry, Rufat Gulmaliyev, Trend reports quoting the Communications Ministry.
Initiated by the Interstate Council for Exhibition-Fair Activities of CIS (Commonwealth of Independent States), the CIS Economic Council decided, on 23 May 2005, to hold the interstate exhibition 15 years of CIS: Co-operation and Integration . The exhibition presents the economical potential, demonstrates the recent achievements of the CIS countries with regard to economy, science, technology, health, education and culture.
The exhibition is aimed to assist in creating conditions for the formation of the unified economical space, increase of the technological level and competitive ability, development of the mutually beneficial co-operation and equal partnership within CIS. Within the framework of the exhibition, it is intended to hold an Economic Forum 15 years of CIS: Results, Problems and Prospects and the Festival of Friendship of People.
The exhibition will close on 28 October under the organizational support from the CIS Executive Committee, Government of CIS member-countries and the Interstate Council for Exhibition-Fair Activities of CIS and Russian Exhibition Center. The exhibition is held to develop interstate co-operation in economical, social and humanitarian, industrial and scientific-technical spheres, to ensure access of the innovative products to the CIS countries and assist in increasing investments in the optimistic sectors of economy of CIS countries.
