The State Enterprise Azerpocht functioning under the Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies of Azerbaijan closed the tender for the purchase of the personal computers and printers for the branches of the Enterprise. The tender commission announced the local company AZEL (Azerbaijan Electronics) as the winner of the bid, Trend reports.
The tender was announced within the 3-year project Development of the financial services aimed at modernizing the post networks of the country.
The project cost is $17,5 mln, with $12,25 mln from the World Bank. After the realization of the project, Azerpocht will receive a relevant status and will be included in the national payment system to provide financial and banking services.
It is considered at the Communications Ministry that the Enterprise will commence providing the financial and banking services in 2007. The project is realized within the State Program for Development of Communications and Information Technologies in Azerbaijan in 2005-2008 (E-Azerbaijan).
