Daniel Stein, the Regional Director for Eurasia of the United States Trade and Development Agency (USTDA) is expected to arrive to Baku soon.
Trend has been informed in the Azerbaijan Telecommunication and IT Ministry that during the forthcoming visit, which is scheduled for the first half of February, 2007, the USTDA Regional Director is expected to hold meetings with representatives of the Azerbaijan Ministry.
During the forthcoming visit, the parties are expected to determine the term on presenting documents by a consulting firm, Strategic Policy Research, Inc. (SPR) within a grant agreement signed been USTDA and the Telecommunication Ministry will be fixed
The documents includes recommendations on reforms and institutional changes in the Azerbaijan Telecommunication Ministry and enterprises subjected to it in the field of regulation.
The grant agreement was signed between Ali Abbasov, Azerbaijan Telecommunication Ministry and James Hayland, the Charge D'affaires of U. S. Embassy to Baku in January, 2005. The amount of the grant is $735,000.
