Unboxing the Toshiba Portege G900 Pocket PC Phone

( Mobile ) - HTC might be on the first names that comes to mind when you consider the Pocket PC phone market, but Toshiba is far from being left in the dust. In fact, the G900 appears to be quite a bit more powerful than many of the other Windows-based units out there.

For starters, the processor is a very capable Marvell PXA270 520MHz processor and the 3-inch touchscreen display boasts a formidable resolution of 800x480 pixels. It is powered by Windows Mobile 6 and comes equipped with UMTS/HSDPA, a 2MP camera, and a slide-out QWERTY keyboard.

The trade-off is that the G900 is a very beefy device, being quite a bit bigger than other devices both in terms of girth and weight. Interestingly, one of the cables included in the box converts the on-board microUSB port into a full-sized USB port, effectively letting you expand the memory on this sucker via USB flash drives and portable hard drives.
