Azerbaijan, Baku /corr. Trend S.Babayeva / As at 1 July 2007, the number of the subscribers of the mobile communication in Azerbaijan made up 4.2 mln, the State Statistics Committee reports. Thus half of each 100 people have mobile phones.
The revenues from the mobile communication in the first half year increased by 31.5% and made up 68.6% out of the gross communication revenues.
Nearly 68 stationary telephones fall to eacgh 100 families.
Three GSM operators function in Azerbaijan. The largest number of subscribers is served by Azercell Telekom (more than 2.5mln), then Bakcell (more than 800,000) and Azerfon (more than 100,000).
