The Green Climate Fund has allocated a 33 million euros to Georgia to support forest sector reform and to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, Trend reports via Georgian media.
The project envisages the active involvement of local governments and the population in seven municipalities of Kakheti, Guria, and Tianeti.
The presentation of the project funded by the Green Climate Fund was made by the Minister of Environment and Agriculture, Levan Davitashvili.
Along with the local governments, the ambassadors of Germany and Switzerland to Georgia also attended the event.
The seven-year project will start in March 2021 and is expected to end in December 2027.
