Uzbek citizens, willing to get Latvian, Estonian, Lithuanian and Swiss visas, will have to submit their applications to the VFS Global visa center in Tashkent city center beginning from March 16, 2018.

The changes are reasoned by the outsourcing agreement signed between the Latvian embassy and the VFS Global in Uzbekistan, the Uzbek agency Sputnik reported.

“Preliminary registration by the 234-21-58 phone number on acquiring of short-term visas to the mentioned countries will be open from 08:30 to 15:30 on workdays. Moreover, all the required information concerning the visa application and acquiring may be obtained by calling to the same phone number,” the embassy noted.

The embassy believes that operation of the visa center will ensure more comfortable conditions for Uzbek citizens, willing to get short-term Schengen visas to Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia and Switzerland.

Visa applications, submitted to the VFS Global, will be reviewed by the Consul Department during 15 days since the submission. In case of an additional check, the time required may be prolonged to 30 days.

The service cost for one passport will be 24—25 euros. The payment will be accepted in a cashless form (by use of the payment cards) in Uzbek soums.
