Number of entry visas to Uzbekistan up

Uzbekistan issued 131,535 entry visas to foreign citizens in the 1H2018, which is 6.63 percent higher more compared to the 1H2017 (123,360 visas), the Uzbek Foreign Ministry stated.

In addition, 16,805 certificates for return to Uzbekistan were issued by the consular and legal department of the Foreign Ministry and consular offices, 3,177 biometric passports were issued, 6,371 actions were carried out through the registry office, notarization and legalization, 7,844 applications were made on citizenship issues (reception, exit, loss and non-belonging).

“The largest number of consular actions was carried out by the embassies of Uzbekistan in Turkmenistan – 21,870, Tajikistan – 16,567, the Russian Federation – 14,421, Kazakhstan – 14,083 and China – 10,882,” the press service of the Foreign Ministry said.

The Foreign Ministry also reminded that, since Feb. 10, 2018, in order to create favorable conditions for the entry of foreign citizens into the republic a visa-free regime for citizens of seven countries has been introduced, including Israel, Indonesia, South Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Turkey and Japan.

In addition, since Feb. 10, 2018, a simplified procedure for issuing tourist visas has been introduced for citizens of 39 countries.

It was earlier reported that citizens of over 40 countries have submitted 1,555 applications to the system for processing and issuing electronic entry visas in Uzbekistan since its launch on July 15.

The largest number of applications came from citizens of China - 265, the USA - 216, the United Kingdom - 176 and India - 154.

The Government of Uzbekistan issued 1,095 visas, with 460 applications pending.

The system can be used by citizens arriving in Uzbekistan for tourist purposes from countries for which a simplified procedure for issuing a visa is established.
