The Dutch TomTom company together with the State Committee of Uzbekistan for land resources, geodesy, cartography and state cadastre will develop a navigation map of Uzbekistan for tourists, the state committee stated.

The corresponding agreement was reached during the meeting of senior manager of the company for expansion of partnership Franz-Stefan Weigl and regional expert of the company for Central Asia Lukmondjon Dadojonov with the representatives of the state committee in Tashkent.

The parties agreed to sign a Memorandum of Cooperation on creation of navigation maps for smartphones, car navigators, personal navigators and web applications for route planning, as well as on increasing proficiency of the committee staff.

The navigation map should be practically helpful for tourists in finding road and tourist signs, determining directions to attractions, hotels and restaurants, as well as in planning tourist routes. This, in turn, will increase the tourist attractiveness and potential of the country.

TomTom is a multinational global brand with products sold to customers in different markets, which are visited daily by more than 800 million people around the world. Apple has chosen TomTom maps for use in a proprietary navigation application built-in into all mobile devices.
