The new bus route is served on a parity basis by the Kazakh carrier Bakdaulet Service and the Uzbek agency Uzautotrans.
The total length of the route is 335 kilometers. Travel time is 6 hours 40 minutes. Two buses run daily in two directions. Departure time from the city of Turkestan is at 07:00 and 17:00 hours, and from Tashkent – 08:00, 18:00 (Astana time). Technical stop – 30 minutes. The fare is 2,000 tenge or 50,000 soums (over $5.5).
The opening of the new international bus route will help increasing the flow of tourists between the two countries, the formation of new tourist routes and strengthen cooperation.
The bus service between the countries was absent since the mid-90s of the last century. In early January 2018, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan reopened the direct international bus route between Tashkent and Shymkent, and in April – between Tashkent and Almaty.
