Kazakh, Tajik airlines may almost double number of flights

Airlines of Kazakhstan and Tajikistan have received the opportunity to increase the number of flights between the countries, Trend reports via Kazakh media.

The Civil Aviation Committee of Kazakhstan's Industry and Infrastructural Development Ministry informed that bilateral negotiations of the aviation authorities of Kazakhstan and Tajikistan have been held in Dushanbe, capital of Tajikistan with the participation of representatives of Air Astana, SCAT Airlines, Tajik Air and Somon Air.

Following the negotiations, a protocol was signed, which enabled the airlines of both countries to increase the number of flights from 18 to 32 flights per week: in particular, to 12 flights per week on the Almaty-Dushanbe route, to 6 flights per week on the Astana-Dushanbe route, and to 14 flights per week on the other routes between Astana, Almaty, Shymkent, Taraz and Dushanbe, Khujand, Bokhtar, Kulob.

At the same time, the issue of opening direct flights between the regional airports of Kazakhstan and Tajikistan is being worked out to develop transit passenger traffic through Kazakhstan.

Based on the agreements reached, Kazakh airlines plan to increase the number of regular flights between the cities of Astana, Almaty and Dushanbe from the spring-summer 2019 navigation period.
