Within the framework of Kashkadarya Investment Forum 2019 held in Uzbekistan on Sept. 27-28, the Italian city of Caserta and Uzbek city of Shahrisabz in the country's Kashkadarya region signed a memorandum on strengthening cooperation in the tourism sector, Trend reports referring to Uzbek State Committee for Tourism.

"This is only the beginning of our partnership. In the future, cooperation with Caserta in the tourism sector will be strengthened. We also intend to sign agreements with other Italian cities," Head of the Department of Tourism Development of the Kashkadarya Region Otabek Olimjonov said.

During the visit of the Uzbek delegation to the Italian city of Caserta this year, an agreement was reached on cooperation and the strengthening of friendly relations of the country with the city municipality.

Caserta is famous for its architectural monuments and rich culture. In the 18th century, beautiful Napoleonic palace was built there, which became one of the best palaces in Europe at that time and has not lost its beauty to this day.

Uzbekistan and Italy signed a protocol on establishing diplomatic relations in 1992.
