Uzbekistan aims to improve tourism sector

State Committee of Uzbekistan on Tourism Development and the Association of Hoteliers of Uzbekistan signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with ATECA Holding (the UAE), Trend reports with reference to the committee.

The document implies the implementation of joint initiatives and projects aimed at developing the hospitality sector and hotel business in Uzbekistan, improving the quality of services and management standards.

"Taking into account the long-term international experience of the holding's chairman Michel Noblet and the team of ATECA experts, the parties have identified important directions of trilateral cooperation: introduction of modern technologies and integrated management systems of accommodation facilities; improvement of classification system and specification of hotels in accordance with international standards, including at the stage of planning facilities; and promotion of investment opportunities of Uzbekistan's hotel sector abroad to attract international tourists to the country," the message said.

The committee noted that an important area of cooperation between the parties will be advisory assistance to the hotel business of Uzbekistan in adapting to the new realities of the tourism industry after the pandemic and new safety requirements for accommodation of tourists, taking into account the best international practices.

"Michelle Noblet is a world-class expert; for many years, he was engaged in the development of hotel and resort hotel chain 'Le Meridien Hotels & Resorts'; and from 2003 to 2013, he was CEO and founding partner of Hospitality Management Holding (HMH) in Dubai, which manages a network of 53 hotels in the MENA region (Middle East and North Africa)," the report said.
