Uzbekistan's Namangan, Russia's Sverdlovsk regions jointly developing tourism sector

Tourism Development Department of Namangan region of Uzbekistan signed a memorandum on cooperation in tourism with the Center for Tourism Development of Sverdlovsk region (Russia) on August 14, 2020, Trend reports citing the State Committee of Uzbekistan for Tourism Development.

This memorandum was signed by the head of the Department of Tourism Development of Namangan region Dilmurod Dzhumabaev and director of the Sverdlovsk region's Tourism Development Center Elmira Tukanova.

The document is based on the agreement on cooperation signed in November 2019 between the administrations of Namangan and Sverdlovsk regions in trade, economic, scientific, technical, social and other spheres.

According to the memorandum, the regions will share information and experience in tourism, attract mutual investment in the tourism sector, promote and sell tourism products, and cooperate in providing training courses.

"A joint road map is being developed for implementation of the goals set in this memorandum," the committee said.

As was reported earlier, the administration of Tashkent city and mayor of Nagoya city of Japan reached an agreement on close interaction in conducting high-level joint events in cultural and tourism spheres and organizing a business forum to establish direct ties between Uzbek and Japanese entrepreneurs.
