France sponsors creation of modern ski resort complex in Uzbekistan

The Beldersay – Chimgan – Nanai International All Seasons Resorts will be built in three stages and the beginning of construction is scheduled for December 2021, Trend reports with reference to the State Assets Management Agency of Uzbekistan.

The resort zone will be located in Bostanlyk District of Tashkent Region.

The project will receive funds from the French Development Agency ($43 million), French Treasury ($160.4 million), and through direct foreign and local investments ($279 million).

The concept and economic model of the complex were developed by a consortium of French companies. The project will be created with a grant from the French FASEP fund in the amount of 750,000 euros.

The Chimgan international all-season recreational complex will have an area of 21.5 hectares, 20 kilometers of ski run,120 facilities, and 9.2-kilometer long cable car lane.

The Beldersay international all-season recreational complex will have an area of 13 hectares, 40 kilometers of ski run, 19.7 kilometers long cable car lane, and 80 facilities will operate there.

The Nanai Ecotourism and Recreation Complex will have an area of 8.1 hectares and will have 50 facilities on its territory.

As a result of these projects, 60 kilometers of ski runs, 29 kilometers of aerial tramways, 250 facilities and 3,000 jobs will be created through the investment of $482.4 million.
