An agreement between Iran and Russia on the abolition of the visa regime will be implemented, Iranian Minister of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts Ali Asghar Mounesan told IRNA, Trend reports.

“The abolition of visa regime for tourists between the two countries is one of the important steps. Thus, tourists will be able to travel without a visa in groups of minimum 5 to a maximum of 50 people,” he noted.

The minister added that the two countries signed an agreement on the abolition of visa regime for tourists in groups on March 28, 2017, in Moscow. A joint initiative program must be implemented for the agreement to work. The program will be signed tomorrow on June 7, 2021.

Mounesan said that the signing of the program and the increase in vaccinations against the coronavirus pandemic will increase the flow of tourists between the two countries.
