BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 9
By Tamilla Mammadova – Trend:
Georgia saw an increase in international flights, said Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Mariam Kvrivishvili, Trend reports via Georgian media.
Kvrivishvili met the representatives of the aviation sector.
The meeting was organized by the Aviation Committee of the Georgian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and was attended by representatives of about 60 member companies of the Aviation Committee.
The meeting was also attended by the President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Giorgi Pertaia, the Chairman of the Committee Giorgi Molodinashvili, the Director of the Civil Aviation Agency Levan Karanadze, and the Director of the Airports Union Tamar Archuadze.
As Kvrivishvili declares, close cooperation with the aviation sector will continue intensively.
"It is welcome that the aviation sector itself notes the positive dynamics, which is reflected in the numbers – international flights are returned to 2019 levels by 55 percent. Of course, we will continue to work closely with the private sector, including in new areas such as vaccination of aviation workers, development of aviation industry action plan and strategy, as well as supporting companies involved in the industry to strengthen the aviation sector in our country even faster and more sustainably, which will initially contribute to the development of transport and tourism," said Kvrivishvili.
