Iran and Bulgaria signed an agreement to develop cooperation between the ports, Deputy Chairman of the Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization Mohammad Ali Hasanzadeh said at the signing ceremony, Trend reports referring to the organization’s website.
“The organization is ready to cooperate with Bulgaria to increase its trade turnover,” the deputy chairman said.
Hasanzadeh added that Bulgarian investors are interested in the development of maritime transport and activity in the Persian Gulf-Black Sea corridor.
Deputy Executive Director of the Bulgarian Ports Infrastructure Company Alexander Alexandrov said that taking into account the competition among the ports in Europe, the use of potential of the Iranian and Bulgarian ports will be beneficial to Bulgaria.
Such issues as the creation of a preferential tariff system for increasing the trade turnover between the Iranian and Bulgarian ports, involvement of investors and businessmen of both countries in the activity of the ports of the two countries and involvement of the private companies for a joint operator to work in the ports of the two countries were discussed at the signing ceremony.
