Passenger traffic at Georgian airports increases

In 2019, Georgian airports served 5.20 million passengers, which is three percent more than in 2018 (5.03 million), Trend reports citing the Georgian Airports Association (GAA).

In December 2019, Tbilisi International Airport served 221,760 passengers, which is 15 percent less than the same period last year (261,097 passengers).

The number of passengers at Kutaisi International Airport in December 2019 increased by 45 percent compared to the same period last year and amounted to 82,551 passengers. For the whole 2019, Kutaisi International Airport served 873,907 passengers, which is 42 percent more than in 2018.

According to GAA, in December 2019, Batumi International Airport served 26,239 passengers, which is 42 percent more than in the same period last year (18,492 passengers). In 2019, passenger traffic at the Batumi International Airport increased by four percent compared to 2018 to 624,178 passengers.

As for local airports, Mestia Airport served 595 passengers in December 2019, which is 97 percent more than in December 2018 (302 passengers)

Ambrolauri Airport served 67 passengers in December 2019, which is 43 passengers more than in December 2018 (24 passengers).
