State Agency of Azerbaijan Automobile Roads plans to build a new bridge that will connect two highways - the Baku-Alat-Astara (border with Iran) and the one coming from Iran, Head of agency’s public relations department Anar Najafli told Trend.
Building is planned for 2020, but the exact dates have not yet been determined, Najafli said.
In 2020, it is planned to build a new bypass road going to the border with Iran bypassing Azerbaijan’s Astara city.
A new road to the Astara city was commissioned in 2018.
Earlier it was reported that the laying of the highway between the cities of the same name Astara on both sides of the state border between Iran and Azerbaijan has started.
