Kazakhstan, Lithuania aiming at transcontinental flight launch

Kazakhstan and Lithuania discussed possibility of launching regular transcontinental flight on Nur-Sultan - Vilnius - New-York route, Trend reports with reference to the press office of Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The topic was discussed within the framework of bilateral political consultations of representative of foreign affairs ministries of Kazakhstan and Lithuania during which parties confirmed readiness to develop political, as well as mutually beneficial trade and economic cooperation, and to maintain close cooperation on global arena.

One of the most important topics of agenda of political consultations was trade and economic cooperaton.

“Lithuania currently is among 10 largest trade partners of Kazakhstan in the EU. In turn, Kazakhstan is 15th trade partner of Lithuania,” the report said.

Participants of the consultations noted that cooperation between Lithuania and Kazakhstan in transit and transport sphere continues being a priority. In particular, parties talked possibilities of establishing cooperation between Kazakh Kuryk and Aktau ports with Lithuanian Klaipeda port.

Parties also discussed issue of establishing direct flights between the countries, as well as prospective creation of regular transcontinental flight on Nur-Sultan - Vilnius - New-York. In this context, parties also talked current conditions and development prospective of tourism development.
