Uzbekistan's car production increases

In Uzbekistan 49,014 cars were produced from January through February 2020, which is 26 percent more than in the same period of 2019, Trend reports citing the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan.

During the first two months of 2019, 38,642 cars were produced, which is 10,000 less than in winter 2020, the report says.

It was noted that in January through February 2020 13,570 Nexia T-250 cars; Cobalt - 11,379; Lacetti-Gentra - 9,442; Damas - 8,485 ; Spark - 5,323 ; Labo - 815 were produced.

It is worth noting that the production of trucks has decreased: in 2019 - 782 units, in 2020 - 636 units.

The production of automobile engines has increased. In 2019, 32,600 engines were produced, and in 2020 - 42,100.

Tractor production from January through February 2020 amounted to 143 units (67 in 2019).

Recently, domestically produced cars have risen in price by 15-20 percent on average in Uzbekistan.

The cost of two modifications of Damas increased by 21 percent. The car presented on the market under the LABO brand rose by 11 percent and now costs about 79.2 million soum ($8,340).

The price of Spark LT/AT model increased by 21 percent from 67.7 million ($7,130) to 92.8 million soum ($9,800). Nexia 3 cars increased in price by 15-19 percent.

Cobalt rose in price by 10-14 percent. The most expensive car in the lineup now costs 115.4 million soum ($12,150). Lacetti, including the model equipped with a gas cylinder, rose in price by only three percent.
