Azerbaijan’s ADY Container LLC expands cooperation mainly with the Far East countries, namely, China, Japan, South Korea, as well as other countries, including Ukraine, Turkey, Russia, Iran, India to increase the volume of cargo transportation along the East-West, North-South international transport corridors and the Trans-Caspian international transport route, a source in the company told Trend.

“In addition to the existing corridors, the work is underway to create new transport routes,” the source said.

“The recent Xian-Prague container train operated by ADY Container opened up new possibilities and diversified the existing routes,” the source said. “In this regard, the negotiations were held with railway companies in several European countries, including Italy’s Mercitalia Group, Austria’s Rail Cargo Group, Poland’s PKP Group, Bulgaria’s BGZ, Romania’s CFR and others."

“The recent meetings were held with Metrans and Rail Cargo Group,” the source added.

"Metrans, a subsidiary of Hamburger Hafen und Logistik AG (Hamburg), transports 1 million containers only in the domestic market of the continent through 15 terminals in Europe,” the source said. “Such Metrans capabilities will play a very important role in the transit of goods through the country from Mersin, Istanbul and the Black Sea ports to the European borders and from there to any part of Europe."

“We work with many railway companies on various routes,” the source said. “Through PKP LHS Euroterminal of Grandpet company, we connect the Romanian port of Constanta with the Georgian ports of Poti and Batumi, with BGZ Karpo - Varna with Batumi and Poti. We are interested in transporting goods from the Turkish Kapikule station to Romania, Bulgaria and Serbia, Central and Southern Europe via railway by Cargo, Metrans companies, as well as from the Italian ports of Mercitalia Trieste and Genoa.”

“Cooperation with Mertrans company will increase the volume of container traffic from Europe to Central Asia and China, as well as in transit through Azerbaijan," the source added.
