Uzavtosanoat will have to localize production of 300 types of spare parts and components that currently are imported from abroad, Trend reports citing Uzbek media.
Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev instructed the company's management to optimize production processes based on an analysis of prices for equipment, speed up the commissioning of metal casting facilities and increase the level of localization to produce affordable domestic tractors that meet the needs of Uzbek villages.
Tasks were set to speed up the mechanization of cotton harvesting and to deliver at least 1,000 cotton harvesters to the regions by September 2020, with the organization of service centers in all regions.
The market for spare parts and components in Uzbekistan is estimated at $500 million. However, the share of locally produced products is only nine percent.
In addition, instructions are given to develop new car models and to encourage commercial banks to issue car loans.
UzAutoSanoat is an Uzbek holding company, which controls automobile manufacturing enterprises of large-knot assembly in Uzbekistan and auto localization and components. It has the largest dealer network in Uzbekistan and CIS countries.
