Turkmenistan, Iran and Uzbekistan discussed issues of launching cooperation in the field of cargo transit and transportation via railway and road across the state borders of the three countries, Trend reports with reference to Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

Heads of Turkmenistan Railways, Uzbekistan Railways JSC and Iran Railways held talks hosted by Turkmenistan Railways agency via videoconference on May 21, 2020. The parties also considered issues related to uninterrupted supply of goods and joint work food safety.

According to the ministry, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan discussed issues of road cargo transportation during the meeting of the Turkmen-Uzbek Commission for international road transport held via videoconference in Ashgabat on May 19, 2020. The meeting was attended by deputy heads of relevant ministries and departments of the two countries.

Prospects for cooperation between Turkmenistan and Iran in the field of cargo transportation were reviewed during a meeting via videoconference on May 12, 2020, at which opportunities to re-launch transportation between the two countries were discussed.
