Some 5,164 tons of cargo were transported through Turkey’s Trabzon Airport from January through May 2020, which is 48 percent less compared to the same period of last year, the Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure told Trend on June 24.
According to the ministry, over the reporting period, 4,806 tons of cargo were transported via domestic flights, which is 46 percent less compared to the same period in 2019.
In the first five months of this year, 358 tons of cargo were transported through the Trabzon Airport via international flights, which is 60 percent less compared to the same period in 2019, the ministry said.
Meanwhile, 646,768 passengers were served in Trabzon Airport, which is 51 percent less compared to the same period last year. 630,181 of them were served via domestic, and 16,587 – via international flights, which is respectively 50 percent and 62 percent less than in the same period of 2019.
The ministry also noted that from January through May, 4,532 flights were made through Trabzon Airport, which is 50 percent less than in the same period of last year.
Over the reporting period, 4,192 domestic flights (down 49 percent) and 340 international flights (decrease by 64 percent) were carried out through Trabzon Airport.
The number of flights decreased by 46.5 percent and made up 304,121 in Turkey from January through May 2020.
Some 33.7 million passengers were served at all Turkish airports from January through May 2020. Furthermore, 304,121 flights were carried out at all airports of the country and 922,610 tons of cargo were transported during the reporting period.
