Cargo shipment from Saudi Arabia via Turkish ports in 1H2020 disclosed

The transshipment of goods from Saudi Arabia through the ports of Turkey exceeded 2.097 million tons from January through June 2020, Turkey’s Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure told Trend.

During the reporting period, the volume of cargo movement from Saudi Arabia by ships flying the Turkish flag amounted to 8,900 tons, and by ships flying the flags of other countries – 2.088 million tons.

According to the ministry, 364 tons of cargo were transported by ships flying the flag of Saudi Arabia during this period.

The volume of cargo shipment in transit from Saudi Arabia through the Turkish ports amounted to 469,755 tons, the ministry noted.

In 1H2020, the volume of cargo movement via Turkish ports amounted to 179.6 million tons.

Meanwhile, the volume of cargo transshipment by ships flying the Turkish flag amounted to 14.3 million tons.

The volume of cargo transshipment through the Turkish ports by ships flying the flags of their countries amounted to 6.9 million tons, and by ships flying the flags of other countries – 158.3 million tons.

Over 36.1 million tons of cargo were transported through the ports of Turkey during the first six months of this year.

In June 2020, the volume of cargo transshipment through the ports of Turkey amounted to 28.1 million tons. At the same time, the volume of cargo transshipment by ships flying the Turkish flag amounted to 2.4 million tons.

The volume of transshipment of goods through the ports of Turkey by ships flying their countries’ flags exceeded 1 million tons, and by ships flying the flags of other countries – to 24.6 million tons.

In June 2020, 5.4 million tons of cargo were transported in transit through the ports of Turkey.
