Cargo shipment from Israel via Turkish ports for 1H2020 revealed

Cargo movement from Israel through the ports of Turkey surpassed 7.4 million tons from January through June 2020, Turkey’s Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure told Trend.

During this period, 588,907 tons of cargo were handled from Israel by ships flying the Turkish flag, while ships flying the flags of other countries moved over 6.6 million tons of cargo.

According to the ministry, ships flying the Israeli flag transported 146,936 tons of cargo in the first half of this year. At the same time, the volume of cargo transshipment in transit from Israel via the Turkish ports made up 465,764 tons.

In 1H2020, the volume of cargo movement via Turkish ports amounted to 179.6 million tons.

Meanwhile, the volume of cargo transshipment by ships flying the Turkish flag amounted to 14.3 million tons.

The volume of cargo transshipment through the Turkish ports by ships flying the flags of their countries amounted to 6.9 million tons, and by ships flying the flags of other countries – 158.3 million tons.

Over 36.1 million tons of cargo were transported through the ports of Turkey during the first six months of this year.

In June 2020, the volume of cargo transshipment through the ports of Turkey amounted to 28.1 million tons. At the same time, the volume of cargo transshipment by ships flying the Turkish flag amounted to 2.4 million tons.

The volume of transshipment of goods through the ports of Turkey by ships flying their countries’ flags exceeded 1 million tons, and by ships flying the flags of other countries – to 24.6 million tons.

During the reporting month, 5.4 million tons of cargo were transported in transit through the ports of Turkey.
