Slovenian Railways is interested in developing cooperation with the Azerbaijani Railways, Slovenian Ministry of Economic Development and Technology told Trend.
“We must be aware that connectivity is also an indispensable part of economic prosperity. Therefore, we highly support closer integration of railway administrations, as we believe that developed international rail transport has strategic importance for all countries, in our near or far neighborhood. Slovenian Railways has also been striving to become an important crossing and connecting center on the V and X corridors between SEE and NW Europe in international traffic. The Slovenian Railways is interested in developing cooperation with the Azerbaijani Railways, especially with the aim of successfully reaching the wider geographical area and obtaining passenger flows and creating better financial results,” said a source in the ministry.
Speaking of new spheres of cooperation, the source pointed out those which are green, creative and smart, which is also in line with Slovenia’s slogan for economy and also with the sustainable development.
“We are convinced that we can create a lot of green solutions, creative ideas and take smart decisions for mutual benefit and increase the economic cooperation between Slovenia and Azerbaijan. Slovenia supports efforts to strengthen EU energy resources diversification. Keeping in mind our partnership in the framework of the Eastern partnership energy panel, we particularly welcome increasing cooperation with Azerbaijan in the field of energy supply,” said the ministry.
