Turkmenistan plans to create geo-information center in the country and introduce digital systems in cities,Trend reports with reference to Turkmenistan’s State News Agency.
These projects were discussed during a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan held via videoconference.
This work should start in Ashgabat, the capital. The necessity to digitize engineering networks, buildings and land plots, as well as take measures to develop a 3D model of the city was noted during the meeting.
The participants also discussed the country's achievements in the transport sector from January through July, the report said.
According to the report, Turkmenistan exceeded its cargo transportation by road, rail, air and sea transport by 4.6 percent, passenger transportation by 2 percent, and cargo turnover – by 6.4 percent during seven months of 2020.
The production plan for the transport and communication sector was overfulfilled by 3.1 percent
The growth rate by Turkmenawtoulaglary Agency (Turkmen automobile service) increased by 4.5 percent, Turkmenistan Railway - 17.1 percent, and Turkmen Deniz Derya Yollary Agency (Turkmen State Service of Maritime and River Transportation) - 13.2 percent.
In 1H2020, the plan for cargo transportation by road, rail, air and sea has been fulfilled by 99.2 percent.
