Update on construction works of Uzbek Sergeli overground metro

Part of the work on the construction of five stations on the Sergeli overground metro line has been completed, Trend reports with reference to the Ministry of Transport in Uzbekistan.

The Sergeli line consists of such stations as Choshtepa, Tashkent small ring road, Sergeli, Afrasiyab, Kipchak. Currently, reinforced concrete construction work is 100 percent complete.

Underground works have also been completed. More than 1,400 reinforced concrete beams have been installed.

The distance of the route is 6.9 kilometers and provides convenience to the densely populated area of Sergeli.

Currently, work is underway to install and electrify rail fences on overhead metro lines. Construction work at the above stations has been completed and coating work is in progress.

In the design estimate documentation of the Sergeli line, 64.4 percent or 1,086 pieces of reinforced concrete beams, 86.6 percent or 220 units of basic pillar girders, 254 units of support pillars were installed, construction work was completed at 83.0 percent or 220 units of support pillars and 580 m tunnel sections.

All ground-based metro stations, erected by experienced specialists, use modern technology, high-quality building materials.

In particular, for passengers with disabilities, modern elevators and escalators will be installed on the station platform for the safe laying of tactile tiles and lifting passengers onto the platforms, modern video surveillance, modern IT-class turnstiles, and energy-saving lighting will be installed at the stations to ensure safety.
Mobile communication equipment is also equipped with electric drives. The timely delivery of quality materials to construction sites creates the basis for fast and reliable construction work.

Great importance is attached to the full observance of labor protection and safety regulations by workers and safety requirements when working at height. Each specialist and employee work in strict accordance with sanitary and hygienic requirements to avoid the coronavirus pandemic.
