Volume of cargo shipment from Spain across Turkish ports revealed

Over 10.8 million tons of cargo were transported from Spain via Turkish ports in the past eight months of 2020, the Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure told Trend.
From January through August 2020, the volume of cargo transshipment from Spain by ships flying the Turkish flag amounted to 1.16 million tons, and by ships flying the flags of other countries – 9.7 million tons, noted the ministry.
Meanwhile, 17,154 tons of cargo were handled by ships flying Spanish flag, said the ministry.
The ministry added that 356,332 tons of cargo were transited from Spain through Turkey’s ports over the reporting period.
The volume of cargo transshipment through the ports of Turkey exceeded 239.3 million tons from January through August 2020.
Over the reporting period, ships flying the Turkish flag handled over 18.9 million tons of goods.
In the first eight months of this year, the volume of cargo movement via Turkish ports by ships flying their countries' flags made up 9 million tons, while ships flying the flags of other countries – 211.3 million tons, the ministry said.
Meanwhile, more than 48.2 million tons of cargo were transited through the ports of Turkey.
I n August 2020, the volume of cargo shipment through the Turkish ports amounted to 29.4 million tons. In this month, ships flying the Turkish flag transshipped over 2 million tons of cargo.
Cargo transshipment via the ports of Turkey by ships flying their countries’ flags amounted to 1 million tons, and by ships flying the flags of other countries – 26.4 million tons.
Over 6.3 million tons of goods were transported in transit through the Turkish ports in August 2020.
