A total of 4.95 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in the Shahid Rajaee port of the Hormozgan Province (southern Iran) in the 6th month of the current Iranian year (August 22-September 21, 2020), Trend reports citing Ports and Maritime Organization of Iran (PMO).
While in the 5th month of the current Iranian year (July 22-August 21, 2020), 5.2 million tons of cargo was loaded and unloaded at this port, the report added.
According to the report, about 2.82 million tons of goods were loaded and 2.13 million tons were unloaded in the sixth month.
“During the reporting month, 2.19 million tons of goods were exported and 516,000 tons were imported through the Shahid Rajaee port,” the report said.
As many as 160,000 tons of goods were loaded and 146,000 tons were unloaded for transit through this port over the sixth month.
According to the report, at the same time, 432,000 tons of goods were loaded and 1.42 million tons were unloaded for cabotage in the port.
About 35,500 tons of goods were loaded and 13,100 tons were unloaded for transshipment at Shahid Rajaee port within the sixth month.
“More than 4,630 tons of goods were loaded, and 33,600 tons were unloaded for other purposes over the same month at this port,” the report noted.
According to the report, 29,600 tons of essential products, 279,000 tons of metal products, 722,000 tons of construction materials and mining materials, 1,740 tons of equipment, vehicles, and spare parts, 368,000 tons of chemicals were loaded and unloaded at the Shahid Rajaee port in the 6th month of the current Iranian year.
“In addition, 6,660 tons of leather, clothing, fiber, wood and other similar goods, 3,000 tons of other goods, 927,000 tons of container products and 2.92 million tons of oil products were loaded and unloaded during the reporting month,” the report said.
In total, 5.5 million tons of cargo were loaded and 4.5 million tons were unloaded through Iranian ports in the 6th month of the current Iranian year.
