Azerbaijan Railways CJSC helped export over 1.8 million tons of goods in the past nine months of 2020, which is 17 percent of the total freight traffic, the company told Trend.
According to the company, cargo transportation for the reporting period amounted to 10.8 million tons.
Meanwhile, over 2.1 million tons of all cargo were moved in transit containers (19 percent of the total traffic).
The company also stressed that its subsidiary ADY Express is expanding cooperation with world’s largest companies.
ADY Express is negotiating with EuroChem Group AG (the largest producer and exporter of fertilizers in Russia) to transport more cargo via Azerbaijan and in the near future, it’s planned to transport shipments in larger volumes, said the company.
The total investment in fixed assets of Azerbaijan Railways CJSC in 2019 amounted to over 1 million manat ($588,235). Funds allocated from the state budget within state capital investments amounted to 653.9 million manat ($384.6 million).
