Cargo vehicles handling at Kazakhstan's seaports increases year-on-year

Over 1.8 million tons of cargo were transported between Kazakhstan’s seaports on the Caspian Sea during 10M2020, which mostly corresponds to the volume transported during the same period last year, Trend reports citing Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Industry and Infrastructural Development.

At the same time, the ministry said that the transshipment volume of cargo vehicles increased year-on-year.

Kazakh domestic merchant fleet transported over 1.8 million tons of cargo between ports on the Caspian Sea during the reporting period, including 10,600 containers on the Aktau - Baku feeder line.

The volume of freight traffic on domestic maritime routes amounted to 1.4 million tons during the reporting period, including 233,000 tons transported in direction of Russia.

Currently, there are three operating seaports in Kazakhstan: Aktau, Bautino, and Kuryk.

Nowadays, Aktau International Commercial Sea Port is a modern multi-purpose terminal that allows the transportation of goods from East to West, from North to South and back 12 months a year and 24 hours a day.

Bautino сargo port is a division of Aktau International Commercial Sea Port and is located in the village of Bautino (150 km from the city of Aktau), in the waters of the Bautino Bay of Tyubkaragansky Gulf.

Kuryk Port is located on the coast of the Caspian Sea, south of Aktau city. The port has direct access to the railway. The ferry complex of the port is designed for the transshipment of goods, including grain, petroleum products, fertilizers, and chemicals.
