Kazakhstan’s official dealers sold 70,549 passenger cars during first 10 months of 2020, which is 25.9 percent more than during the same period last year, Trend reports citing Kazakhstan’s Union of Enterprises Automotive Industry.
Kazakhs have spent 633.6 billion tenge ($1.5 billion) on purchase of new cars during the reporting period, which is 21.3 percent more than during the same period last year.
The number of cars sold in Oct. 2020 was 9,213 cars, which is 39 percent more than in Oct. 2019 (6,626 cars) and 4.1 percent less than in Sept. 2020 (9,604 cars). The value of cars sold in Oct. 2020 was 78.4 billion tenge ($182.7 million), which is 24.6 percent more than in Oct. 2019.
Some 50,425 Kazakhs (71.5 percent of purchasers) purchased cars of local manufacturing, whereas 20,124 of the purchased cars were imported.
The TOP-5 of the mist purchased cars during the reporting period were Lada (15,219 cars), Hyundai (13,456 cars), Toyota (8,612 cars), Ravon (6,906 cars) и Chevrolet (5,667 cars).
The majority of the cars were purchased in Almaty city (17,688 cars), Nur-Sultan city (11,629 cars), Shymkent city (7,081 cars), Karaganda city (4,889 cars), Kostanay city (4,458 cars), Atyrau city (3,207 cars).
